Academy Charter: Culture, Conduct & Community
This charter is not just rules, it is the foundation of our training culture and the standard we hold ourselves to every session.
We are committed to creating an environment where everyone can learn, improve, and enjoy professional wrestling in a space that is safe, inclusive, and respectful. This charter sets out the standards we expect from all students and the standards you can expect from us.
Together, we build a safer, stronger wrestling community.
1. Respect for Everyone
We treat every person who walks through our doors with dignity and respect. This includes differences in:
- Age
- Gender and identity
- Sexuality
- Race and ethnicity
- Religion or belief
- Background, ability, or level of experience
We celebrate diversity and expect all members to foster a positive, supportive community.
2. A SAFE TRAINING ENVIRONMENT
Your safety and the safety of others are our highest priority. As a student, you agree to:
- Train responsibly and look out for your partners
- Listen to coaching staff and follow instructions carefully
- Communicate openly if something feels unsafe or beyond your ability
- Stop immediately if you become injured and report it to a coach
- Avoid training under the influence of alcohol or drugs
Wrestling is a physical discipline. Consent and communication are essential in every drill, hold, and movement.
3. POSITIVE BEHAVIOUR & PROFESSIONAL CONDUCT
We maintain a zero-tolerance approach to bullying, harassment, intimidation, or behaviour that makes others feel unsafe or unwelcome. This includes:
- Using excessive or retaliatory force
- Shouting, aggression, or deliberate intimidation
- Excluding others or forming cliques
- Discriminatory comments or behaviour
Every student has a role in creating a friendly, respectful, and professional training space.
4. MENTAL WELLBEING & SUPPORT
We recognise that mental health is just as important as physical health. Students should feel comfortable speaking to a coach if they are struggling or need support. We expect all members to:
- Be mindful that others may be dealing with mental health challenges
- Avoid actions or comments that could worsen someone’s wellbeing
- Encourage and include those who seem isolated or less confident
You are never expected to “push through” emotional distress. We are here to support you.
5. HYGIENE, KIT & CARE OF EQUIPMENT
To keep the academy clean, safe, and comfortable for everyone:
- Wear clean training kit and appropriate footwear
- Remove jewellery or tape it securely
- Maintain a good level of personal hygiene
- Respect the ring, mats, and equipment and help put items away after use
Treat the academy as you would treat your own training home.
6. SAFEGUARDING & REPORTING CONCERNS
Students must report any safeguarding concerns, bullying, abuse, or behaviour that feels unsafe or inappropriate. You can speak confidentially to:
- The Head Coach
- The Safeguarding Lead
We will always take concerns seriously and act promptly and fairly.
7. OUR COMMITMENT TO YOU
